@littlebluepill0 differentiate their genre based off the concerts they play, not by their videos.. dir en grey is a visual kei band.. this song is metal ish obviously but like you said, people began considering it as a genre and dir en grey qualifies
-
@littlebluepill0 Technically its still rock music, with some other influences.Visual Kei is more of a style than music in general. But yeah i understand what you mean.
-
@spyclanhectic No... Visual Kei is more of a punk/glam rock/heavy metal... And Visual Kei is technically NOT a genre, people started associating it as one. It was really about their visual style, not their music.

@MikyWrita No... Visual Kei is more of a punk/glam rock/heavy metal... It's actually not really a music genre technically, it's the style of the bands playing the music. But once people considered it a genre, those are the aspects it took on.

what scene in SAW 3D is this played at?
-
@AiLess They are too good to be called J-rock.
-
@spyclanhectic i know,right...i mean i said metal because there is a difference between metal and rock, but visual kei and rock its the same thing...

People just get annoyed because they think Diru have been Americanized, which is just bullshit. They seem very serious these days, but that's more to do with how the Japanese usually are. It's better for a band to evolve, than just keep doing the same music. I love every single album they've done, but I agree that metal is more for them. They were always a dark band, but I guess I do miss when their sound wasn't as dark. They'll always write amazing music, no matter what their style and look.
