Here's a brief look at the pointing technique of some of the good pointers at the 2009 Pallino d'Oro played on the lightning fast, synthetic surfaced courts at Michigan's Palazzo di Bocce.
Notice that in international rules you may step on, but not completely over the foul line. You may step completely over the line once the roll is released. Note that some move several steps toward the target after release, others do not. The common denominator among these deliveries = they are all "smooth as silk."

  • These players are some of the top in the USA and Canada. They tend to move forward after releasing the ball (in the direction of the target to improve accuracy, I suspect).

I think many of these players took a page out of some of the top international players' book.

  • Lookin back a 2nd time I see the styles of shooting in front of the shoe w/out moving. Most all of us shoot from the side not in front. I'll keep researching. Thanks for the video.

  • Most poeple in the leauge I play in in the US don't move when they point. All these styles shown have the person take a step or more. Any advice as I am new at this? Thanks
