I think this is not a black and white issue. I have a drink once a year on my bday ;) and I don't think that's a bad thing. Not everyone who has a drink is going to have black out or go crazy with the booze. If you do those things however, you really should not be drinking.
My thoughts of liquor are this...if you do anything under the influence that you would not do or want to do Sober...you should not be drinking. Ever. That's my two cents, as they say.

I hope my father could watch this. I just wish he would stop drinking for his children, for us. You just don't know how so many nights they always fight with my mom just because my mom doesn't want him to get drunk. He even cannot afford to give us what we need then he's always like that.
As for me, I'm 19 and I haven't drank alcohol and never been and will never be drunk as I do not have plans to be what I hate. I totally wish the world will someday treat alcohol as harmful as drugs.

Come on... let us be reasonable. A glass of wine at dinner is simply lovely. It will inhence the flavours of your meal... Drinking like pigs - that is discusting... not a glass of wine at dinner or when you celebrate an event.

I had my first drink of beer at age 6... The first time I got really drunk was at age 16. I'm only 26 now, but I do drink way too much.

You amaze me Mrs. Rice! Over and over again through your statments, videos, novels, speeches youve given fans something to think about. You have a thought provoking mind and a beautiful religious view of life. I cant thank you enough for this. And I also love the fact that you're taking advantage of your stardome to speak to fans in a way most authors don't and it really shows you care about fans, the world and people just in general. Your statement makes an important point.
