FIMMQ - Military Tattoo 2010 - Luftwaffe & Bundeswehr

The Wachbataillon (full name: Wachbataillon beim Bundesministerium der Verteidigung (Guard battalion at the Ministry of Defence)) is the German Bundeswehr's elite drill unit. The Wachbataillon is the largest battalion of the German forces with about 1,800 soldiers, split in two garrisons in Berlin and Siegburg. It consists of nine companies and belongs to the Streitkräftebasis (Joint Service Support Command) of the Bundeswehr. The soldiers of the Wachbataillon often refer to themselves as Protter or Protokollsoldaten, meaning protocol soldiers.

you're certainly right, but all the guys from the various countries and the 20,000 people present at the event , were not aware of this restriction, please accept our common apologies, had you inform us earlier, I'm sure everybody would have left this Festival.

ps. the statement that "the Grosser Zapfenstreich" aka Grand Tattoo is not held for "foreign people" is totally wrong, dozends of allied Nato Officers have been honored with it, and there have been quite historic occasions like the Grand Tattoo in front of the Brandenburg Gate in 1994 held especially FOR the Allied troops keeping Berlin free !. @CookCpt The previous video title was calling that regular ceremony as a "Grosser Zapfenstreich". It isn't. Grosser Zapfenstreich ceremonies are rarely held, usually given as final honors to resigning ministers/presidents or government officials.
