Covers Feb 19-24, places visited are Utuana, Cerro Toledo, Tapichalaca, Copalinga Lodge, Bombuscaro NP and Old Zamora-Loja Rd.
Except for some really nice Hummingbird- and Antpitta-footage I'm ashamed to admit it's almost a slideshow. I simply didn't get time for both photography AND video. The sound seldom fits with the birds, so don't think I've put correct birdcalls together with the photos. Mostly I've used the soundtracks from "social" footage, roughly from the same place as the photos were taken.
That said I can tell you about some of the featured birds. You'll se Chestnut-collared Swallow, Speckled Hummingbird, Rainbow Starfrontlet, Purple-throated Sunangel, White-throated Quail-Dove, Chestnut-naped Antpitta and Jocotoco Antpitta and a Barred Fruiteater in very bad light. Mammals are, of course The Boys; Jonas Nilsson, first class birdguide, and Håkan my travel companion. And a VERY distant Spectacled Bear...
Photos show Golden-crowned Tanager, Gray-chested Montain-Toucan, Black-throated Tody-Tyrant, Fasciated Tiger-Heron, Spangled Coquette, Lanceolated Monklet, Coppery-chested Jacamar, Ornate Flycatcher, Paradise Tanager, White-tipped Sicklebill, Semi-collared Hawk and Oilbird.

  • A Canon Legria HF200 for the videos, for still photos I use Canon 7D with a 300/4,0 lens.
