Setouchi islands are a bunch of islands located between Shikoku and Okayama area, in the Inland Sea. During the past few years many of these islands have suffered from depopulation due to the aging of its people and the departure of the young ones to the big cities. Setouchi International Art Festival was created with the intention of making people know about them through art. So from the 19th of July 2010 to the 31st of October of this same year, during 100 days, thousands of people have visited islands that in many cases they had hardly ever heard their name before. Installations of all kinds, permanent pieces of art, new museums, restaurants and other facilities have been build for the festival. In most cases these pieces of art are related to the island, its activities and its population. This video was recorded in Ogijima, one of the islands chosen. The Inland Sea is a very special place, and so all these islands, since despite of being in an island, you are always surrounded by many other islands and mountains feeling as if you were embraced by them.Hopefully this festival will have helped to make Japanese people aware of the treasure they have in the Inland Sea.
Un vídeo genial; m'encanta la música que heu escollit :)
