  • I love this documentary...... its honest.... most people are hiding the fact they are murderous asshsoles who would fuck you up the ass for a buck.... at least the people on the doc are honest... if peoples lives are so great. why is drug abuse by people on the rise. just not junkies but every day people.... cause we all wear masks and afraid of each other

  • "Zwieg wants a call "taking him away". It doesn't work that way. If YOU want to change your life, YOU need to take control."

    ???

Have you ever tried living in Toronto? It's a horrible city. I'm surprised suicide isn't more of a passtime than it currently is.

  • After seeing "I, Curmudgeon", this guy is my new favorite director. With, "I, Curmudgeon" in particular - I've never seen a movie I related to more in my entire life, thus it's my favorite film. This clip definitely makes me want to see the rest of Vinyl. Heh, it's funny how a person's favorite things seem so connected/lead to each other - I found out about Harvey Pekar and American Splendor because of Ghost World, I found out about I, Curmudgeon, because of Harvey Pekar and Andy Rooney etc.

  • what about if I and YOU are BOTH responsible for the way EACH other feels as if WE were ONE?*&^%$#!

  • "you live in Toronto? Right "vegaslover" go back to your slot machines"

Wow, that's some comeback. I'll bet they call you Einstein.

    Typical Toronto hater.

  • "Have I ever tried living in Toronto? I've lived here all my life. And hey, I haven't even committed suicide yet! It's not a horrible city, It's a great city. And there's endless opportunities to meet people."

you live in Toronto? Right "vegaslover"

go back to your slot machines.

And you put question marks after this comment I made earlier. Hmmm, very interesting. So I guess you think OTHER people should take charge of YOUR life.

Have I ever tried living in Toronto? I've lived here all my life. And hey, I haven't even committed suicide yet! It's not a horrible city, It's a great city. And there's endless opportunities to meet people.

  • Zweig's expressing alienation. It's goes a little deeper than not playing volleyball: it's about not finding people he can empathize or connect with fundamentally.

I'd really recommend watching the whole movie (Vinyl), and his other two films, before judging him on being lonely. I think he expresses beautifully the isolation - and desire to break the isolation - of living in an urban capitalist society.

  • Alan Zweig would be Alan Zweig, if here weren't alone. That's how it works, he'd be like everybody else "normal" out there.

  • Zwieg wants a call "taking him away". It doesn't work that way. If YOU want to change your life, YOU need to take control. You live in a city of 5 1/2 mil. And you're lonely??? Get out there and meet people!! Take a cooking class, join a bowling league, sign up for Parks and Recreation volleyball or basketball, try a dating service, volunteer your services, there's all KINDS of orgs that need volunteers. Do these things and you'll start getting the calls you're desperately hoping for.
