For heating oil tanks that leak and seep at pipe fittings we show a simple cure that stops indoor heating oil leaks and smells - in this case seepage at the vent pipe and oil tank gauge fittings. A proper installation or repair uses an appropriate sealant (not teflon tape) at pipe joints. But here we demo a simple stopgap that can intercept small weeping leaks and thus odors at the oil tank. -- InspectAPedia.com
