@banstaman About 1,000 miles on the odometer

@danwat1234 Is it even broken in? Quite a few people I know have 2011/2012 Elantras and the ones who have their engines broken in can easily get 40.

The Elantra does not get 40MPG highway. Check out that data on the website 'fuelly'. Consumer watchdog has sent a letter to president Obama and to the EPA stating that you car does worse that what the EPA tests reveal, and Chevy Cruze consistently does better than what it's EPA values are. Both the Elantra and Cruze are 33MPG combined).
The Cruze gets an average of 28% better mileage than the Elantra.
Stop lying please. My mother got an Elantra, always in Eco mode, can't get more than 25MPG

@bobbawon i think you should know that i was stressing the hyun part... most people pronounce it HUN or HON... like HONDAY like honda. my point is that there's a "y" in hyundai that serves a purpose. and then white people criticize people that minorities can't speak english... go over phonetics geez
-
@stevelee14x actually, it's pronounced hyun-DEH, not hyun-DAY. Well, at least in Korea it is, and it's a Korean car, soooo...
-
i'm liking the car though
-
its pronounced hYUN-day not "HUNDAY"... the Y is there for a reason

Rented it today, drove it 568miles and it was awesome. And I only had the base model. Love the quick response of the computer and the 6spd trans. Love the feel of confidence behind the wheel. The car does not feel heavy or underpowered. The seating position is great, the ride it tight and composed, almost Hondaish.Only complaint I have is the large A-pillar, but due to crash-regulations, I suppose that cant be helped with the airbag in the pillar. I avg'd 33.8mpg at 85mph with A/C on.
