This is a photo-documentary of The Black Hills in western South Dakota. THE BLACK HILLS In Lakota are called Pahá Sápa. In Cheyenne they are called Moʼȯhta-voʼhonáaeva. A mountain range which stretches from western South Dakota into Wyoming. They received their name because of their darkness in the distance. Major Indian Wars were fought in these Black Hills.
