Here is part 1 of some video I took, containing most of the locomotive whistles blown at the 2007 Boot Hill whistle blow in Jones, Michigan. For those who love whistles, Boot Hill has locomotive whistles, traction engine whistles, factory whistles, ship whistles, and more! In all, we blew about 70 whistles on steam. In order, here are the whistles in this video:

~ NYC T-Motor (5" 3-chime)
- unknown Canadian 5" 3-chime
- NYC 6-chime (Mike Daugherty replica)
- 6" Lonergan (3-chime)
- 6" 3-chime (homemade by Jeff Hosford)
- Grand Trunk Pacific 5-chime
- N&W hooter
- 5" 3-chime Crosby
- 6" 3-chime Crosby
- Hancock long bell 3-chime (from Florida East Coast)
- Nathan long bell 3-chime
- Burlington 5-chime

  • I think it is a shame that the locomotives that were once boliwing these things, are demolished. but it is a good thing that the sound of those locomotives still exist.

  • Love the video. My only only complaint is that those guys need to learn how to really blow a whistle. Personally I'm a fan of those long bells.

  • The Hooter sounds good. It makes a tweet when short amount of steam in this whistle.

  • Holy crap I LOVE that Burlington 5 chime at the end!!

  • I'm not that good with whistles. Is the Crosby 6" the one at 2:20. It sounds just like it and I've been wanting to hear that whistle. The N&W Hooter sounds really good to.
