how bigs the tubing? and is it a dual exit? i got one on my F-150, 3 inch custom tubing, dual rear exit and four inch tips, with a K&N cai, its real deep, if u dont have a cai, give K&N a call and they will get u what u want, it will add a lot of sound to it. nice truck btw, i got a 2000 aswell.

I kinda wory about a cai. Dosent look like much to protect the filter from all the mud n stuff that gets thrown up under the hood

as long as your not blowing through a ton of water their fine, i believe u can get covers for them to protect them when ur off roading. but i hardly even take my truck off roading though, just mainly in the winter is when i go out.
