  • This is a wonderful performance. Thank you....I have posted some recent Classical music, by another composer, still above the sod. Charles Roland Berry

  • Thank you for waching.

  • Both are very unique in that their volume continuously expands (which is one of the keys to Bach imo). Maisky is better at controlling his volume but playing romantically facilitates that. Jian and Maisky are both very simliar yet very different. There is no need to compare them though; they are both sublime artists.

  • Maisky do it better!!!!!!

  • allemande tan hermosa so beautiful

  • absolutely beautiful. the allemande is so serene

  • In terms of Bach playing, I like Maiskys romantic playing of the suites, however, when it comes to overall cello playing, Rostropovich is undeniable.

And Yo Yo Ma has like... one performance that I like above other cellists so far, his playing of Rachmaninoffs Cello Sonata, just happens to be far better than everyone elses imo.

  • I am interested in his approach.

  • I love everything about his bach!

  • This is great.

  • how narrow-minded.

  • I don't really think that the way he plays the Suites should be called interpreting. He doesn't interpret them, he gives as objective view as I've seen yet of them, and lets the music speak for itself. It's a very interesting style of playing, although I'm not sure if I like him or Mischa Maisky better when it comes to Bach... why not both?
