what a maroon. Get an auger, set your hundred holes, buy your buddy some brew and show off your dirty post hole diggers to your wives. It's an auger, there is a reason for a very coarse thread screw with a motor driving it.

Sometimes expert village isn't so expert. If this is for the guy who is doing one or two post holes, this is ok. But for someone running a fence around the perimeter of a typical home, this could take days and not to mention the back breaking work. Rent a post hole digger, there are single man cable diggers and the typical two man type. You'll be done in hours instead of days and have a more precise hole for setting posts. Or get post stakes and drive them into the earth instead.
