@mylesag2 Hey now. This was one of his first shows. And if you look there are more complex internal rhymes in the song. He was still young and still getting the hang of things. And not only did he write the lyrics, but he wrote the score. Not a lot of composers also write their own lyrics. And besides the song is supposed to be simple, just like whistling. Learn to interpret, you silly-goose. And never insult this god of theatre again.

Yes, and an anonymous poster on Youtube is going to show me the error of my ways. lol

@bhall35 Of which you are wallowing in...accepting all that B.S. that Sondheim is such a god. He has done some great stuff but NOT every composition of his is beyond critciism...like this one...and you are just one of those who drown BLINDLY and FOOLISHLY in their adulation of an on-again, off-again writer. I mean even Cole Porter had his misses. Why shouldn't Stevie?

@mylesag2 and ps: you're a troll.

@mylesag2 : what you don't know about Sondheim and rhyming could fill an ocean

What lousy rhyming by Sondheim!! Can't he find any other word than "easy / me"? This is the brilliant songwriter? He is such a schlock. And please don't pass it off as "unique" construction. Such a lame excuse.
