An old McDonald's commercial featuring the original Ronald McDonald. Seeing the current Ronald, it's amazing he can get any more creepy, but apparently he was. He kind of looks like a bum with a box on his head really.

@ZionNeo1 - Nope, 4 years after your post, semi-retired meteorologist Willard Scott is alive and well in October 2011, age 77. As others have posted, he gained his real fame as the weatherman for NBC's Today Show, but now only appears on a part-time basis as of this writing.

@sweiland75 - Because they were the same people who came up with Speedee, who was one of the creepiest icons ever brought out in the 1950s, which was the decade that gave birth to a lot of logos and advertising icons that we consider very creepy today.
