I trace it all back to those AMA days, said champion Reno air racer Jon Sharp. Its gotten me to where I am in aerospace.
Sharp, like many of the other presenters, talked about his early years with control line and RC models he built, taking the audience up to the time when he and his wife built his 400+ mph Nemesis NXT from carbon fiber molds in his home-based hangar.

cant be brought up into aviation like that these days. IT FREAKING SUCKS! I wish I would have lived during the glory days of aviation. 50s 60s 70s 80s. but nooooo.

Cool, I worked on John and Dan's NXT's at Mojave, amazing aircraft. I always bugged John and Trish to let me build models of the NXT. I'm a professional model maker, build mostly for NASA, but now disabled..
