Apple Computer Ad - Powerbook Duo 2

great idea. While laptops are portable, they are not as ergonomic as a desktop. The more modern fix would be to get a USB keyboard and mouse and elevate your laptop to eye level.

i wish that apple made something like that for the new macbooks.

Love how you can put the powerbook inside the macintosh desktop( dont know what it was being called).. its like the desktop ate it, freaking awesome!

Its called a docking station.

It was a lot more than just a "dock" - it had it's own internal hard drive, many extra ports, and even NuBus expansion slots (old Mac equivalent of PCI cards).

Uhmm.. I didn't even know that they can put it in the thinga-mah-jig..
But like the new old SOOOOOO much better.

Too bad no other companies made something like this after Apple discontinued the Duos... It seems like the perfect solution for field technicians and marketing/sales people.

The best of the Duo line was the 2300c. Active-matrix display, trackpad, and it had a PowerPC processor! (I think it was a slower 603. It could have been a 601...)

I have a Duo 280C system but it has a PSU issue ..
its so Retro !!  and small for its day it still is a very small laptop
..now if only the MBA had a docking port.. and Firewire..
