In May of 2007, the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus debuted "USS Metaphor," their adaptation of Gilbert & Sullivan's "HMS Pinafore" and a skewering take on the U.S. military's discriminatory "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Encore presentations took place in February and July of 2008.

As this ship of gay sailors prepares to dock in Boston Harbor, Stephen Closeted is conflicted over his feelings for fellow shipmate Ralph Rackstraw. His father, Captain Closeted, eagerly awaits a visit from presidential candidate Secretary Josephine Porter. • @ minniethe3rd...lol...didn't they tell you..G & S is SUPPOSED to be 'camp'!!

  • GAY

  • Who cares if they are gay, i love G @ S, who knows we may be listening to the martian male voice choir one day so just enjoy it for the beauty of the music

  • @whitewave1027 lol i think your right.... Chica does HMS give it away by not being US NAVY lol

  • Great classic tune but this is lacking depth. Without wishing to offend it sounds camp - not the true baritone depth that it was written for.

  • Pretty Lame, perhaps if they had real men, not a bunch of sissy acting men doing it, it might have come off with the sound of salt in the air, not the little debbie snacks that I heard

  • how gay is this?!

  • Very soft way of singing it. :\ Not sure if it's the recording equipment or a failing on the singers though.
