  • No, Terea Teng died of asthma on May 8, 1995 in Thailand .

  • This is "Taiwanese," also known as "Fukien" or "Hokkein" or "Minnan."

And NO, Taiwanese is NOT Mandarin, contrary to popular belief!

  • @emosakuri17 In my opinion, Ros' version of this song has a smother rhythm compared with the Chinese version. I personally prefer Cambodian version even though I don't understand a single Khmer word.

  • @6jpn850 The song title means 11th brother, not 11 o'clock.

  • Original song by Ros Sereysothea?

  • @burntrice745 You are right. Ros Sereysothea's version was from a Taiwanese movie. Ros's version's title of the song was "Sra 1 Keo" or "A glass of liquor/wine". Regardless, the original version including the movie was from the early 70s.

  • Im Cambodian & I think this is the best cover made for this song . Better than Ros Sereysothea but maybe it's because Terea Tang's voice is clear & the music is clear & she doesn't sound so old .

  • when was this song recorded?

  • @wdsf5193

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like an asshole.

yeah, a lot of people covered this song in the 70's.

Yo Hsieh(謝有) did both the lyric and the melody.(which was in Hokkien)

    Mandarin version:Xiao Ying Zhang (張小英)

    Cantonese:Jing Chang Zheng(鄭錦昌)

English:Simon Junior and The Melodians (西門魯尼與音符樂隊) From Malaysia

Khmer:Ros Serey Sothea(Can't type in Khmer) But this is actually the only one that isn't called Shi yi ge/11th brother (十一哥)

  • @jonk0126 Maybe you're right, I don't know for sure. But I know that it is an oldie song. I delete my last comment.

  • @wdsf5193

horribly wrong, the other way around dude...

  • @wdsf5193 no i think the melody is originally chinese...Ros Sereysothea used the melody but the lyrics and song meaning are different...
