You can be pro choice and against abortion. Just because you're pro choice doesn't mean you want people to have abortions. Pro choice means that you believe that we should have the choice to do what we want with our own bodies and not be told what to do with it by the government or anyone else.

    You can use surrogates.

I agree it's not a realistic way of doing it, but if you claim all things that could potentially develop into a person should be allowed to do so - it would be the only moral thing to do.

That's why anti-abortion is so silly.

Why didn't she, at 17, use birth control and then she wouldn't even had needed to contemplate abortion? I have to say, I struggle with hoe I feel about this issue. I agree with Whoopi, I don't want irresponsible parents who aren't even ready for a child to have a baby. But then again, why does it need to get to the point where abortion is necessary? It's such a barbaric procedure in my opinion, so why not use birth control instead? I don't know, I just can't make a decision on this one yet.

first, let me say how thrilled i am that you chose to keep your son! and the fact that someone at PP was part of that is amazing. that's how it SHOULD always be! unfortunately, that is not the norm. if you read "unplanned," by the former director of a PP clinic, she details how she was fired & sued for exposing the truth about their abortion goals. and the legal records prove her story to be true. i'm glad you had a different experience.

people who argue abortion should be legal for cases where the parents don't have enough money sound SO STUPID. you have SO MANY CHOICES to make BEFORE conception! don't have sex, get a birth control implant (for free in the US at clinics!), or choose adoption (they have open adoption where you can see your child and have a relationship, the degree of which is chosen before birth).

it is a medical fact that the basic heart starts beating (irregularly, but beating) at 18 days post-conception. that's well before all but IVF patients will know they are pregnant. FACT: abortion stops a beating heart. what makes YOUR beating heart more important?! it's not "pro-choice/pro-life," it's "pro-murder/pro-life." or "anti-life/anti-murder."

Considering the waiting room was filled with men waiting to be seen as well, they obviously do much more than perform abortions. I will never understand why people can't be pro-life but also pro-choice, I obviously wouldn't abort but I will fight tooth and nail for others to have that right because what is best for them has nothing to do with me. Sorry but that really fucking pissed me off.

She didn't even talk to me about abortion. She explained adoption to me and after hearing my thoughts on that, she also told me she didn't think that would be something I would be ok with either. She encouraged me that I could raise my son and that with my strong family support, I would be fine. She was part of why I chose to keep my son. This is why I get so fucking pissed when, as Joy says Anti-choice people, try to make Planned Parenthood seem like this nefarious abortion happy place.

Sherri's story is complete BULLSHIT. I had my boyfriend of 3.5 years leave me when I was 4 months pregnant. He encouraged me to get an abortion and because I didn't think I could do it alone, I considered it. I didn't think I could deal with aborting so late in my pregnancy but I went to Planned Parenthood simply for someone to talk to to help sort out my feelings. As soon as my counselor heard my story, she told me abortion was NOT the right choice for me. She could tell I would regret it.

They are nothing like what the pro life crowd makes them out to be.
