Close friend & fellow creator, KIVA came through my studio to talk about his new album he produced entirely on a revolutionary new device called BEATERATOR. He gave a mini demonstration about how the record was made and even made a track on the spot.

Brooklyn based artist/producer DJ Kiva is the founder of Adios Babylon Studios & record label. Producing for over 15 years, he has released numerous full-length albums & remixed for many soul, broken beat, reggae, & dance music artists. His sound combines the best of soulful live performances blended with futuristic electronic music production techniques.

DJ Kiva has performed at countless soundsystem events from Brooklyn to Berlin, ranging from grimy warehouse parties, to swanky uptown NY hotels, to blasting thousands with his street-based soundsystem at NY's annual West Indian Day Parade; always exposing ears to upfront & underground sounds of Stuttastep, Broken Beat, Future Soul, Dub, and beyond.

His productions have been released on such labels as Adios Babylon(USA), Bagpak Music (USA), King Tubby Heritage (USA), Tommy Boy(USA), Kindred Spirits(Holland), Goya Music (UK), & Sunshine Enterprises (Austria) and he has appeared as a guest speaker & performer on Public Enemy founder Hank Shocklee's Producer Panel at Remix magazine's "Remix Hotel NYC" event.

A veteran live musician with over 20 years experience, he is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, drums, keys, trumpet, & percussion. As the live guitarist for hip hop projects "Shape of Broad Minds" & "Willie Isz" featuring Jneiro Jarel & Khujo Goodie of Goodie Mob, he tours internationally performing at clubs & festivals worldwide.
