April 14, 2009. Distant Worlds music from Final Fantasy concert in Grand Rapids, MI.

First I need to apologize for two things. One, I was shaking so much because the guards at that concert were quite ruthless. Anybody who was at the concert that night knows what I'm talking about. Two, this is the only song from the actual concert that I was able to get because I got caught. I was warned that if I tried to film again, I'd be kicked out.

The songs played that night were as follows:

Liberi Fatali (FFVIII)
To Zanarkand (FFX)
Don't Be Afraid (FFVIII)
Aerith's Theme (FFVII)
Medley 2002 (FFI-III)
Dear Friends (FFV)
Vamo' Alla Flamenco (FFIX)
Ronfaure (FFXI)
Main Theme of Final Fantasy
Opening~Bombing Mission (FFVII)
Fisherman's Horizon (FFVIII)
Memoro de la S^tono~Distant Worlds (FFXI)
Swing de Chocobo
Love Grows (FFVIII)
The Opera (FFVI)
Terra's Theme (FFVI)
One-Winged Angel (FFVII)

You'll notice that FFIV is missing from the list. The original list of songs included all of the above with the exception of Ronfaure. The folks at Distant Worlds announced that Ronfaure would be added into the list for Grand Rapids and that song replaced Theme of Love from FFIV.

All in all, it was an outstanding concert and one that I'm sure everyone in the audience won't soon forget.

  • Nobuo makes me want to learn the piano. Too bad it's too expensive.

  • oooh, what a pity they caught you, i love this one, very good theme and excellent game, FF its not what it used to be since nobuo left squaresoft

  • I'm a little late to this conversation, but I DID get caught.

I can even see myself on this video, I'm in the second row, center. They caught me filming. Now here's the irony.

I would never have known about this concert if it hadn't been for youtube videos of the previous concerts. The usher was nice, he got a kick out of that.

  • Honestly, the ushers were more distracting than the people filming. All their flashlight Morse code...I know it distracted me a few times...Sorry you got caught.

  • i was there, and i agree that it wasn't worth the risk because it was a great show.

and, yeah, the ushers were pretty much on the move all night. would have been tough to not get caught.

  • i wouldn't have risked it myself.

but the quality is good. thanks for the upload.

  • Sorry you got caught D:

It's such a wonderful view too..

I hope the guards are more lenient in Detroit.
