Its the same as people with crazy dogs. You have to treat a horse like a horse and what makes them treat YOU as the boss same as dogs. They are both pack/herd type social animals who need an "alpha". Thats why there so many messed up animals. people have seen 1 too many Disney cartoons and humanize them. They dont think like humans so you cant treat them as one. Thats not saying mistreat them at all. Treat them like one their own kind who is in charge.

I am in the process of turning a rescue mule of Skippper W lineage back into a normal reacting mule , who completely broke down from a Clinton encounter. This may work with a horse, although from any equine's point of view this must seem a series of odd tasks, but with a very intelligent mare mule it took 14 consistent months of normal requests to get her to trust a person. This video helped me understand what had caused her very odd reactions. Not every technique will work with everything
