Contuned--> So yes it was a result of the high waters. Also the 5th party (in the kayak) had gone down that river many times in the past and if the waters hadn't been so high, I think we would have been alright. Thank you search and rescue fore getting my little brother off the gravel bar and thank you to everyone else who helped us. We and our families are so thank-full that there were such nice people around to help us when it all happened!

O.K.... so here are the facts! I was one of those people who floated down the river. As search and rescue, you should know how many people there are to be rescued... it was 5, not 3 or 4. Not trying to sound mean but it is sort of important! We were all wearing our life-jackets and we have canoed many times before... the problem was that the canoe got stuck on some gravel on the bottom of the river and we couldn't get it straightened out in time, that's why we tipped.-->

i was there when that happened. i helped chase the kayak down the river. there was a cop and some volunteer firemen. pretty scary.
