Toronto Police vs Tamil Tiger Protesters 2

After failing to remove themselves from the middle of the street at Dundas and University Ave police were forced to physically remove the protesters who were obstructing traffic. Several officers were assaulted which resulted in several people being arrested.

When you park your butts in the middle of Dundas and University (where you're not allowed to do your protest) and block traffic and ambulances, yes the cops have the right to remove you. Anyone who was arrested had assulted the police when they were asked to move off the middle of the street. I was there, and I saw this. The police acted appropriately. This set of protesters did not.

Traffic is the least of your worries if you look in the right direction. @obriehl. My mother had such a hard time getting to and from the hospial when this shit was going on. she was going through liver faileur and this stupid protest didn't help. They completely went in the wrong direction with their tatics.

It seems this was one big headache for everybody except the protesters.

@dcsking What? I think the police acted far better than I would have. Any other group would have been removed. At the end of the day, the police were as professional as they could be. This protest disrupted the entire downtown core.How dare you say it's not a free country when the police did nothing but control the movement. In many areas of the world (including the US) they would have been much more forceful.
