A man of honor, is man that'll admit that there is (most times) always an alternate way, and is equally willing to try it.

This reminds me of a good tip...picking contractors. There are some good contractors out there, but they are hard to find. I've found the best contractors do not bad mouth other contractors or belittle customers. That type of behavior is caused by insecurity in themselves and for good reason. They also like to refer to themselves as a "pro". A true professional will provide references instead and let their work and past customers do the talking.

I have this same bit and there is a little trick to it once they begin to wear. I have found you must apply a decent amount of pressure to drive screws to the proper depth... consistently. You may get a slight dimple from the outside ring of the bit but it fills easily along with the screw dimple. I would fully agree that a screw gun is the best tool but for infrequent projects the cost of these bits can't be beaten if you have trouble driving with a variable speed driver.

cordless impact and experienced trigger finger are unbeatable in efficiency.

Those Bits Do Not Work ! I bought the fancy one to try it out and me nor none of my guy's got it to work. your original method or that drywall screw gun is the way to go !

ToolKing.com sells refurbished power tools. I've picked up many power tools over the years for about 30% off new. The Dewalt screw gun in this video, I just purchased it for $56. I love it. But...I'm a tool guy.

If you did decide to get a drywall driver I have found that it saves in the long run to get a deck driver. It's the same thing except it has a stronger motor that allows it too drive deck screws into lumber as well. I use mine all the time for drywall and decking.

it is not a uni tasker. the adjustable cone comes off. then it is a screw gun with a clutch. so if you want to say it is only a screw gun then ok.
-
the drywall gun is a uni tasker all it does is countersink screws...save your bucks! unless you hang sheetrock for a living....

The same argument can be made for just about EVERYTHING YOU DO IN YOUR OWN HOME! Calling a pro is just not feasible in every case. I also do construction for a living and there will always be enough people who do not want to mess with a project to keep us busy! I am just trying to help out the ones who want to do it!+++Bob
