51" (1:250 scale) scratch-built model of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kitty Hawk, shown launching a Revell Piloto R/C airplane on her maiden voyage! This was a quick build, intended more as a platform for the airplane than a true scale model. So we couldn't give her the proper propeller count, but one screw serves her fine. Also: we already know how ridiculous the biplane is, scale-wise. You don't need to tell us. :)

Cameras used: Panasonic Lumix ZS5, Flip Mino, FlyCamOne 2, Gumstick camera (generic), HTC Evo 4G

  • The comments on this video are great - just wanted to thank everyone for their funny, complimentary, and cool remarks. Thanks for watching, everyone ... and yes, someday we'll find a plane controllable enough to land on an R/C carrier. Stay tuned. :)

  • @Rapidnadion Man all u need is like wat they do on real Carriers just attatch a small rope or string on the thing and on the RC a hook to catch the string

  • @DestructoXxShaunxX Plane needs to be controllable enough to even get near the carrier, though. That's the problem with small aircraft like these. And a crash into the water means instant death; we do all our filming over salt water, which hates electronics. Someday, though.

  • Awsome!! Was the plane 2 channel? It looked like he was having trouble handling it.

  • @epic99jesus Very very rudimentary controls on the plane, yes - we're trying to secure a small, controllable aircraft to land on the boat!

  • cute vide0

  • nice... now land on it.

  • @Rapidnadion K bt im just saying that u could like get a bigger Carrier(or just use very thin wood to extend it)and then get like a foam 3D plane , like i gt a ELECTRIFly FlatOut Turmoil ARF which is Great for slow accurate flight. It is a bit pricey But it will last long therfore worth it.

  • Sketchy, sketchy (land) safe

  • Now land the R/C plane on the R/C Carrier :)

  • That was real cool! great intro.and the captions.hahaha.Ear protection required! hahaha.

  • **Plane Crashes**

    "Mission Accomplished"

    haha =D

  • Very cool; great model.

  • What kind of motor did you use? Was it from a kit or different boat or anything? That was amazing!
