It's a Rechargeable Remote Control and Programmable Laser Ball! I made this video to show how it can be made and how awesome it looks.

Many people (myself included) have been impressed by the Laser Ball so I wanted to share it with the world. I originally envisioned the Laser Ball as a upgraded LED poi but after several variations its gone well beyond just another poi ball. Now it reminds me more of a lightsaber training droid...

My mom once said that you can't make something simply because it is awesome. This just happens to be so awesome that the reason to make it is due to sheer awesomeness, making the awesome self-sustaining. Because of the self sustaining awesome, if you remove the ball itself, you are left, simply, with PURE AWESOME. @LeoneLabs Hey im currently working on this but i ran into a bit of problems 1. Where do i put the GND? and 2 the IR remote codes give me an (Error Compiling i was wondering if you could help thanks!

@xxAmericanistaxx - Try checking out the Laser Ball Instructable. Be sure to look in the comments too. The GNDs are all tied together; the battery GND, teensy GND, laser GND, and IR GND. The error codes are probably because you need to also install Ken Shirrifs IR library.
