My Dad has a Jetta TDI - no problems and over 30K on it. She pulls like a champ fully loaded, she's quiet and runs smooth. The torque is awesome.

All the emissions crap that we have too put on diesels in the U.S makes them unreliable. Cummins ( Dodge), International ( Ford), and Isuzu (Chevy) are having major problems with their new stuff as well.

I have one, 2010 jetta tdi sportwagen been in the shop 10 times less than one year and under 20k miles over 6 grand in parts and labor and it's in the shop again!! thank god it's still covered. I will sell this fully loaded junk prior to coverage ends.
