The DashDAQ in action. Pretty sweet piece of equipment really. It runs off linux, boots up in about 10 seconds and can monitor every sensor my ECU puts out. It even datalogs onto a SD card.

  • Does it show engine knock?

  • @NSN32 Yes, it can show any of the parameters that the ECU monitors. Since the ECU in the 08 WRX monitors engine knock, the DashDAQ can display it. I should note though that some of the older vehicles with slower ecu's don't display information as fluidly. I recently sold my WRX and picked up an M3 and an H3, neither have fast enough ECU's to use the DashDAQ effectively in real time.

  • It's really not though. The guages are big enough so you can see them in your periphial easily. My biggest concerns were not mounting anything on the A pillar because of the airbags in them and not obstructing my view in the windshield. So it works for me though and that's just one mounting soution.

  • Man that is really cool. But it is in an awkward place to see.
