  • england has the best hymns without a doubt

  • @railfanatic844 The Hymn writers of England had the greatest command of the English language. "Immortal, invisible, God only wise, in light inaccessible, hid from our eyes..." I agree with you 100%, and I am an American.

  • This only shows that we are in the last days, the Protestants are coming back to their mother roman catholic church, I even saw a monk singing that old grand hymn, what an ecumenical! Even so, come Lord Jesus!

  • @s007ja , Yes,you are so right. A praise band is not worship or reverent in my opinion.

  • This great hymn and hundreds of others like it can be found in the 1940 Episcopal Hyman, soon to be republished!

  • @railfanatic844

I would not say that England has the best Hymns, they do have some beautiful hymns, like this one.

What I do have to say is that hearing this: who, in their right mind, can question the Organ as instrument?

  • and really ...i get to hear this good hymns

  • great my jesus............

  • It's like that hymn was made for that church... so much power and space in the sound

  • @edwincluck LOL on Bush II (dolt). To ma 'mericun ear, it sounds like HM has lost some of the "poshness" over the decades, especially with the "long O"-sound, which she used to pronounce almost like a long A. So, is Edwards' pronunciation of "tune" and "during" (teewn/deewring) and the clipped "ou" sound in "without doubt" part of the Welsh accent? Sorry if I'm being a pain, but this stuff interests me--and you've been so informative. Thanks. Plus, I get to hear this hymn every time.

  • @nauort23 Soz! I thought you might be Bush43 who once asked which country is Wales in!

Edwards is 'establishment'. His father was a renowned professor of the Welsh language, so Huw's accent is definitely Welsh but not too Welsh

Edwards is often wheeled out by the BBC to present its 'Special Events' broadcasts, particularly royal events. The BBC probably uses him to appear more 'inclusive'. Having an anchor who spoke more posher that what HM Queen does would alienate a lot of viewers
