Great airplane. I fly it for Porter in Canada.

If SAS hated this plane so much, why did they buy a bunch of them for their low-cost subsidiary?
-
What route? Thank god that Wideroe still flies Dash 8

Look closely, I sure did: Continental's Q lost a wheel because its fastener was not safetied, losing the wheel, bearings, brake assembly...and all that fluid. The plane didn't go off the runway, there was no hull loss or injury, it made it safely to the gate & hangar. SAS lost 3 Q400s for the exact same reason, all within a month, so one time's got no case, Ike. And when mlevinp stops being a media borg, I'll listen to him.
Piss off the world; think for yourself. Works for me!

dude continental. when it landed the wheel on the right laning gear fell off so it's not only SAS. and it's Denmark that screwing up SAS!
so you better listen to mlevinp.
The Q400 is an exceptional plane, as well as exceptionally safe. It's SAS whose maintenance programme failed. Sweden's Aviation Authority has already documented that. 3 right-hand gear failures within a month...can't blame an airplane design for that, can you, especially since no other operator has had that problem. BTW, Air Canada is negotiating for SAS' Q400s.

lol - if it was SAS' maintenance programme, why has Bombardier accepted a huge cut in the price of their CRJ 900NG for SAS?
The civil aviation authority in Denmark has concluded that it was Bombardiers fault!! Why should Sweden be involved in this - no accidents happened in Sweden.

Because SAS is headquartered in *ahem* Stockholm, Sweden (Surprise!). Thus their Civil Aviation Authority had the full authority to investigate the accidents & concluded it was SAS' fault rising from NEGLIGENT MAINTENANCE. Do you research anything? No, I didn't think so. Nobody else has had Q400 main gear failures, period, but SAS has 3 in one month. Why SAS? Will SAS play the Martyr Card on this forever? They screwed up, they need to own up; writing's on the wall, in red.

So, please document your statement with links to the reports then?
Well, I have family, that flew the Q400 within SAS - I have done this discussion a hundred times before! It was the Danish civil aviation authority, that investigated the crashes in *ahem* Aalborg and Copenhagen, Denmark (surprise!). The first two incidents, were due to a badly made component, which caused Bombardier to order all (!!) companies to change this component - perhaps you should do a little research?

Ah, so you have family that flew with SAS? Sounds a bit like bias there, does it not? Or more like "Don't shit where you eat". Thank you for amply demonstrating which side your bread is buttered on. You have soundly disqualified yourself from this discussion. Have a nice day.

Just because I have some thrustworthy info instead of your guesses and selfstudies, it disqualifies me from the discussion? It rather sounds like you are afraid to discuss, because I might be right? But ok, have a nice day then :)
