  • beuatiful voice, no soul, no meaning, bored with himself and with his singing. no wonder he had such a huge success as onjegin. he really is an onjegin.

  • @amitfri That's your opinion :-)

  • Ah! This piece gave me an extraordinary pleasure! 5 stars for it, without hesitating! Please present us without delay the secooond Act or tell me where to find it?:) It appears it is not here or perhaps I did not find well! What a skilful comedian Dmitri! That stature, that tone, his movements dignified of those of a noble man, his expression of indecision or fear of her refusal....!

  • What of Act II? The end? Any more special wishes? :-)

  • I don't know when this was done, but I cannot believe that Dmitri did not sing the high note at the end.

  • 1992, I believe. Yeah, it's strange. Maybe not a good day, it happens.

Luckily, singing's not just about high notes, can you imagine that? Coincidentally, I tried to imagine it just yesterday: The tenor comes, makes a bow, sings several high Cs, since that's why everyone has come, anyway, and then the audience applaud and go home! XD

  • @amitfri

He is young here. Check out his 2007 performance with Fleming at the Met. 15 years later, he has a much more mature demeanor.

Agreed, though, the boredom is a great character trait for Onegin.

  • Yes, its end and that would be all!^^:)) Thank you very much indeed frufruJ for responding to me and excellent weekend!:)

  • What a sublime woman! Her expression of suffering before fainting! What a pity she is silly enough to keep her eyes downcast when Dmitri declare the circonstance in which they are and prepare to tell her to cede to his envies...sexual ones,I believe! Phew! At least, at the end, she raised her eyes towards him and seems decided to consent to it!

  • @Tanechka80

the reason I said this is because I have heard him sing the high F several times, also in person. He sings high notes so freely that I was just surprised.
