What exactly are the constellations? What would a constellation like Orion look like from the back? Or from the side?

This video is, as the Brits would say, "exactly what it says on the tin." A computer animation takes us 360 degrees around Orion, and shows us what a constellation is--or, more importantly, isn't.

  • 9 people had their belief system crushed to high hell..... time to get a new friend: might i suggest astronomy this time in stead of astrology...?

  • @Epostaxis Yes: go with the wise mother instead of the mad daughter (to reference an analogy from Voltaire).

  • wait, i meant isnt bellatrix closer to us than betelgeuse? it isnt in this video

  • @jezzie7354 Yes, it is; I just checked.

  • @jezzie7354 In fact, at the end of the animation, Bellatrix is one of the ones that comes zooming in at the last moment.

  • isnt betelgeuse closer to us than bellatrix?

  • AMOS 5:8 THE SEVEN STARS IS PLEIADES AND ORION IS "BEFORE THE LORD" (which is known as Nimrod) and christians believe they are different than those that worshipped Gods from the stars.. haha.. the Bible is saying the exact same thing as the ancient egyptians, hopi native americans, mayans, babylonians, greeks, aztecs, dogon and all other ancestors from long ago. Its time to wake up sheeple! GENESIS 10:8-12 (SARGON OF AKKAD.. INVESTIGATE!)

  • Obviously the pre-frontal cortex is not blocking truth for some of us... thank you for making this video..

  • @Killedkennyagain lol. nice frontal lobe usage. :p

  • @tisilwm Well, that's the problem: the more science gets away from areas of everyday human experience--the things our little monkey-brains actually evolved to be able to deal with--the more difficulty we have conceptualizing what's going on. Don't worry, it's not just you.

I think it was Richard Feynman who said, "If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics."
