Retired president Daniel Arap Moi shared a platform with former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga in Eldoret in an attempt to breathe life in the former ruling party. Observers see the move as a strategy to attract the Mungiki block vote ahead of the 2012 general election. Moi told the meeting in Eldoret that Kanu will once again be a party to reckon with come the next general election. Party chairman Uhuru Kenyatta skipped the meeting.

  • I thought moi had enought of massing up kenya for so many years as president. Iam not kenyan. I know, baba moi will be remembered as one of the most corrupted leader in the Land.

  • Politcz has tuned into tribal aliances ... diregarding and discrediting the foundation that our country was built on.

Moi just undermined all ethical and moral standards to further his tribal and political agendas. He aint nothin more than a low life thug like Njenga and the Mwingiks.

  • the last throes of two wasted fish

  • to safeguard his property he looted during his brutal regime, this sickly disturbed man has resorted mungiki's help!. ain't there a law which prohibits people with prior criminal records from holding public office???????????

  • Mzee you are very wrong here. Mungiki is not a national outfit but a tribal gang. Its wrong to legitimize the wrongs done on thousands of kenyans and the innocent blood shed just for votes. Its an open secret that this gang is very active even todate and the last thing kenyans expect from Moi is what you are doing.

  • How can Moi associate with Mungiki? This ould be indicative of Kanu's rooting in crime. Remember the tribal clashes of 1992, 1997 that all went unpunished?

  • it is all about politics. you can tukana all you want but just wait. Raila, Uhuru and all other politicians will be courting mungiki for votes !!!!! just wait and see.

  • It seems to me that in Kenyan, all one has to do to get respect is lead a mob or government that is responsible for the murder and plunder of Kenyans. Mungiki will never be legitimate. It's like the murderous Klu Klu Klan in the USA transforming itself into a political party back in the segregated South. Moi is treading on dangerous ground and indeed undermining the coexistence of diverse ethnic groups.

  • for an ex-president better known for his failures, courting Mungiki and partisan dirty RV politics will only enforce his unparalleled 24 years of mediocrity and tyranny rule.

  • Moi is a spoiler. He messed up the country and he is here trying to mess the country now through Mungiki.
