@mrarcher857 Thanks for the tip - seems very intriguing. I already work on the premise that the agricultural revolution shaped behavior on the genetic level, although probably in different ways. But I will take a closer look at some point.

@john42t Read The 10,000 Year Explosion by Cochran and Harpending. :-)

@mrarcher857 The stealing bit is something I didn't consider, I have to think a bit about the consequences. - HG societies were probably really pretty "egalitarian" (not ideologically of course). - I do believe it was about collaboration: You also see this wolf packs and other animals of prey that cannot hunt alone. Like them, humans always lived in "packs" (tribes). I believe this to be the reason. The farmer can live alone, although he is indeed very vulnerable to robbers.

@john42t With agriculture came the first food surpluses, which can be stolen and therefore have to be defended. With big game, everyone has an equal chance of being killed, so hunter-gatherer societies tended to be egalitarian. It's not really about teamwork but competition, hence the need for objective law and a God to anchor it in. Most HG religions are animistic and had little to do with laws or scriptures, for example.

@mrarcher857 What do you mean by "contending with big game"? And do you think hunter-gatherers didn't have to collaborate? I would have thought that hunting requires team work more than agriculture.

@BondGirl155 Thank you for the compliment.

My pet theory: When humans went from hunting and gathering to agriculture, they went from contending with big game to contending with other human groups. This meant cheating and betrayal came into play, so an authority and objective law were necessary. This is where God came in. Liberals hate these things because their material affluence, in academia or the West in general, creates the illusion of a hunter-gatherer society where the world magically provides for them.

Thank you John ~ Your intelligence is broad and applies to all humans. Now, just getting to those who resist ideas that are more than two dimensions ~ To Man and Mind.
I'm a 17 year old who leans left on social issues, but is uncertain in regards to economic issues, mainly because I haven't really had much experience working for a living. Your calm, organized way of communicating gives off a healthily rational vibe. It certainly makes videos like your anti-intellectual one so much more pleasant to understand. I'm subscribing, and suggesting that you keep up with that style. I prefer it to the emotional tirades some other YouTubers are insistent on.

@gamefax Thanks for the advice and I'm glad you like my content. I sometimes get a bit emotional myself but I try to keep it down.
