I know what you mean. I hated 50 Cent until just recently because I thought, hey, he's mainstream, right? Well, sure, he is mainstream, and sure, he rapped just to get rich, but he's still talented and he rose to fame better than most. Give credit where credit is due. If you hate on everyone just because they're famous or mainstream, you will end up missing out on a lot of good music.
On that note, "Get Rich or Die Trying" was a banger.
