  • Unless your gun is extremely dirty you don't need solvent. You can use solvent in the bore and just dry brush everything else and then wipe it down. Then re-lubricate and or grease. I generally shot 200-300 rounds at the range a few times a month and I never have to use Solvent for any thing other than the bore with with a patch or a good bore snake.

Every so often I give my pistols a good once over and check 4 wear and tear. I would ditch the rem oil and go with CLP or the shooters choice trio

  • Agreed. Good comment!

  • I would think a can of compressed air would work good on getting any debris out of the small holes in the slider.

  • Good suggestion! it's imporatnt to try not to get anything in there in the first place. Over time it will get gunked up if oil gets in there. Thanks

  • Good Video Ryan. Question about the Bore Snake, Is there a recommended way to clean it. Its seem it would collect all the dirt and you wouldn't want to rerun it through the barrel. I've never used one. I've gone with brush first, then mophead and patches till clean then a dry patch.

5 star for this one dude.

  • I've had it for a few months and I haven't cleaned it. It seems to be working fine. I don't remember what the directions said either. I'm sure you could prob handwash it. Thanks!!!

  • I was looking for a video on how to clean a gun and especialy a Glock 19.Very good one!

I love your videos and the fact that you are always humble, you do know a lot about many things but you dont claim to be expert and better than anyone else.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Good video. Suggestion though, youre not supposed to run your metal bristle through the barrel both directions. Only towards the end away from the lug

  • Hey so I have NOT ever used a bore snake but I have been considering it. Just one question what happens when it becomes really dirty?

  • i blew on mine and i got gun dust in my eye, should i be worried?

  • @yourpizzahasarrived i would NOT use wd40 on anything gun related,it will dry and gum up everything..

  • can you use wd40?

  • I'm not expert here but everything I've been told over and over seems pretty consistent that you never put oil in the bore of your barrel... Solvents yes, but soaking in oil?? Not too sure about that tip.

  • is CLP good for cleaning ?

  • does high temp wheel bearing greas work well ? i want something that will stick on the rails and not ear up my polymer gun , also my dad is an aircraft mech. and he uses something called " LPS" it works great for lubing and has staying power . but its not heavy and can run. is it safe ? its say its petroliem based. any ideas thanks much

  • Q tips! Genius!

  • You said it "best" The purpose of posting videos is to "learn from each other, and what this is all about". Unlike others, they post their videos to show how superior and high and mighty they are in the subject matter, and what they say goes and your thoughts and comments are not wanted nor tolerated. Good job!

  • Very helpful, thanks!
