World's (Previous) Biggest Dodgeball Game (Sep 2010)

Them folks over at U of A have taken back their record Feb 4, 2011. Congrats guys! I just hope my school won't take this lying down.

We got it back!

On September 22, 2010, the University of California, Irvine attempted to play the largest dodgeball game in the world. The previous record holder was the University of Alberta, in Canada, at a remarkable 1200 individuals. We managed to get 1700, initially not having enough before more and more people began trickling in. In fact, there were unfortunately people who couldn't participate at all as we got closer to the game, being turned away at the door (so to speak) for some reason. Come on guys, I thought we were aiming for 2000!

Anyway, this here's a video of the game, set to the very first song we played to (We're Not Gonna Take it by Twisted Sister). Unfortunately, it only consists of the clips my friend and I personally recorded on our phones, so it isn't high quality and it doesn't encompass the entire game. We only started recording after we got out (personally, I was hit in the face out of nowhere). I tried to cut out as much of the boring stuff as possible, so hopefully you'll enjoy this pseudo-highlight reel that much better. Sorry if you wanted to see more of Blue Team. Gold Team was my team, so I was closer to them when I began recording. The very last picture is the only one I didn't personally take, which is from ASUCI's page. FYI GreatestLegend, turning ppl away at the door was probably to keep the game legit. Guinesses rules say that to set the record for the largest game of dodgeball there must be at least one ball for every twop ppl. I participated in the University of Alberta's 1200 person game and we made sure we had 1200 ppl at max. cause we only had 600 balls.

BTW well done on getting 1700 ppl.
