On Thursday 25th of March the Power2010 Midlands team spent the day campaigning in Shrewsbury where we spoke to voters and to the Labour and Lib Dem parliamentary candidates about the urgent need for democratic reform.
We went there because hundreds of people had highlighted the anti-reform record of Daniel Kawczynski MP. The campaign has dropped 15,000 'WANTED' posters in the constituency to remind constituents that their current MP has not served their interests, but his.
Here, Midlands Regional Organiser CiarĂ¡n delivers the open letter signed by the public to Kawczynski's office. There was no response.
In response to my interview on BBC Radio Shropshire, the MP stated that this campaign was not 'focusing on the issues that matter to people, such as housing and pensions'.
The Power2010 campaign is about democratic reform and our campaign has received more support and public input than any of the parties' manifestos. The Power Pledge is the direct result of the public saying for themselves what issues matter most to them.
The public asked that we make an example of Daniel Kawczynski. The longer he doesn't see why that matters to people, the further he validates our reasons for targeting him
