Come Rain or Come Shine is a great song by Harold Arlen. I suppose part of its appeal is that ambiguity between minor and major in the song's harmonic structure which sort of echoes the title of the song.
I played it on my fairly recently bought Kawai baby Grand, which is great to play on, but I can't derive the transcription that I can from the midi file that I record on my Yamaha P250 concurrently when I record the video.
I have added the chords and melody as well as a few annotations, so that, other jazz pianists who are interested can perhaps borrow some ideas.
The original video file is at http://www.bushgrafts.com
Mr. McKenzie: Nice stuff, very helpful. Never been able to play like this - you've got me pointed in the right direction. Thanks for putting these in the ether. jfreeway
Have you considered jazz treatments of Mozart sonatas?

As always: Perfect substitutions - subtle voice leading. Great laid-back rhythmic feel on the solo lines: A big fan here. Keep it up. Love the acoustic.

i love the acoustic piano versions better actually, although transcriptions help beginners no doubt. Eventually people have to learn to play what they hear without having to look at the score so...this is probably the right time for acoustic piano.

Wow Doug -acoustic too! Lovely tone. As well as your usual impeccable playing you give us a master-class on the effect of squeezing the last drop of technical quality out of youtube. Can you tell us more about microphone placements and video upload parameters you are using to deliver this stunning quality?

Hi. Is this a 5'1" "baby grand" or a 6' "baby grand"?

Yes, please keep on playing your baby Grand on those videos. I don't think that midi based transcriptions add a significant value to the pedagigoc aspect of your recordings. And the pure artistic aspect (if ever these two aspects can be really seperated from each other) of your playing gains momentum from the acoustic instrument.
Smart-assed, enough, now I lay back, enjoy and learn by listening.
