Architecture-wise the Earth Kingdom was a mixture of Japanese and Chinese style architecture. The Fire Nation's buildings looks similar to that of Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries. The Water Tribes are Inuit and Eskimo.

The written language in the Avatar world is CHINESE!

Customs, clothing, and etc. are all from Asian countries!
