It's a Big Job /
Belmont Pictures, Inc. & Los Angeles Transit Lines, 1947.

The film, a training film, details what it's like to be a streetcar or trolley operator during the period (late 1940s) trolleys operated in Los Angeles, California. Part 3 of 3, includes bus operator training on motor coaches and electric trolley buses.

Presented by Los Angeles Transit Lines, the latter (1945-1958) was the successor to Los Angeles Railway (1895-1945) and Los Angeles Motor Bus Companies.

  • Who was the best Co. to work for LARly or Pacific Electric. I've heard that there were poor management / worker relations on the LARly.

  • LA Transit Lines was owned by National City Lines who were as anti-rail as you can get. They were instrumental in dismantling streetcar lines not only in LA but all over the country. I'm glad to see we have come full circle!!!

  • It must be fun learning how to drive a streetcar!!!
