Oh I love this movie very much - decent storyline, very nice scenery, great action scenes. The acting wasn't superb but wasn't bad at the same time. I don't know why this film reminds me TV shows of the 90's - Acapulco H.E.A.T., Baywatch and Thunder in Paradise

A scheduling conference was held today (12/29/09) in the Superior Court as the Guam Economic Development Authority continues efforts to recover an $800,000 loan guarantee from "Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon" producer John Laing. The film producer filed a similar suit in California trying to get out of paying the guarantee he was given to produce the big screen flop.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 15 while jury selection and trial are slated to begin on June 28, 2010.

Too bad the movie had financial problems. At least Guam got another movie under its belt. Many movies go in the red and don't recoup. Ask Jack Black how that works.Guam movie movie made in the mid 70's called Noon Sunday produced by Gordon Maileux. Had some notable actors, Mark Lenard (Spock's father Sarek) Keye Luke the white eyed Sensei in Kung-Fu, John Russel of the TV series Lawman. Didn't go any where but it fills the slots for dead air viewings on HBO etc., when there are no hits to air.

Mickey Hardt is a good fighter, but if Donnie Yen had been choreographing the fight scenes it would've been better. Mickey and Donnie worked together before and after watching him in 'Puma' I gave this movie a try. It was kinda disappointing but still, I've gotta give Mickey his props.

Guam could do better with pornos. Already Japanese, Korean, and Taiwan porno producers are coming to Guam and filming on the secluded beaches and jungles. I know, because my buddy and I have been hired to scout locations for them. And we can watch the pornos being filmed too! It's great. And we make some money for finding good locations. Of course we have to stand guard to make sure nobody catches us in the middle of a production. That would be embarrassing.

This is how stupid the folks at Westlake Entertainment are: this clip starts off with the 2nd Max Havoc film, "Ring of Fire" and cuts to the 1st Max Havoc film, "Curse of the Dragon." The clip finally ends with footage from "Ring of Fire."
It's like they don't even want these shitty films. Who can blame them. Give it up Westlake, you guys bought some worthless movies with this Max Havoc series.

The territory of Guam guaranteed an $800,000 loan for the making of this film. The Producer defaulted on the loan and Guam got stuck with the bill.
Other than that, this movie is pretty bad. If Guam wanted to encourage film companies to do business on the island, they should have invited Hong Kong action filmmakers. They're more efficient.
