I didn't know the history of this beautiful car when I made and posted this vid. (I did, however, note the green Illinois Terminal PCC in the background at the beginning.) After having written that in the title and the blurb, I received this comment from rekelly2:
The car is Springfield Terminal Railway 16 and operated between Springfield, Vermont and Charlestown, New Hampshire in passenger service until 1947. It was used as a work car until 1956. The car was built by the Wason Car Co. in Springfield, Mass.

That's entirely correct. Don't forget the Pennsy owned the LIRR, which explains the Pennsy position-light signals on both railroads. PRR's Reds were set up for 11k AC with pantographs, while LIRR used 600 volt DC third rail. In addition, Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines also ran MP-54's off of third rail and for a short stretch in Gloucester City, NJ where there were a lot of grade crossings, overhead wire with trolley poles. LIRR had basically 2 types of MP-54's: Arch roof and celestory-roof

Warehouse Point also has an ex-LIRR MP-54 MU with trolley poles. Last I heard it still runs. Do they ever run that car, maybe for special occasions? I would love to ride in that car. I only got to ride "Reds" only twice in my life and it was for only 6/10 of a mile both times.

I'm sorry but I do not know. And I'm a bit surprised that the LIRR had any MP-54s; I seem to recall that those were Pennsy beasts set to run on their high-voltage catenary lines. The LIRR is all 600v third rail, no?
