This song was written by Jim McGuinn and Chris Hillman, recorded by the Byrds in 1966 and released as a single in Jan 1967. The song reached #29 on the billboard (Hot 100). As stated in Wikipedia "The song was inspired by the hype surrounding the creation of The Monkees, whose television series had recently debuted in America, launching the prefabricated band to international fame. The manufactured nature of the group caused Hillman and McGuinn to look upon the current state of the pop world with more than a little cynicism." I hope you enjoy the cover. Thanks to my son Paul for his guitar playing. I asked him if he would play this tune with me & because of "my impatience" he learned his part in all of about 5 minutes. Thanks for helping the old man out Paul.

  • @7761864 Thanks Brian. Hope all is well....hey I got to see for my first time Gordon Lightfoot two Sundays ago. He played at a very old but well kept theatre hall in New Bedford, MA called the Ziterion Theatre (about an hour away). He put on a great show. My wife and I really enjoyed it....Two nights later back at the same theatre my two boys and I saw the band Yes (again my first time). Steve Howe is an incredible guitar player (mind boggling really). Glad you liked the vid...Nick

  • @rhythmantic I meant I wouldn't "sweat" it, I should be more carefull with my typing. ha ha

  • @rhythmantic Thanks Sal... You should upload it anyways. Your kit alaways sounds awewsome so if it's not quite what you want for the sound I wouldn't seat it. How you drum the cover is of utmost importance. I would be interested to see it. It would serve as a good teaching tool. You Rock !!!! Nick
