@DickGranite For those who keep thinking Layne wasn't AIC:
1. Layne Was Alice in Chains.
2. If Layne never joined then this is what you would have.. A band not having it's best asset....Still my favorite band but no-where the potential when they had Layne.
3. Duvall is good and nobody's bashing him...It's just Layne's band and forever it will be.
4. Greatest Band in History "MY" AIC

i support him [duvall] as an artist and in his role in the band. however it is not a sound or group that is interesting with him as lead singer, especially if there is a strong feeling and memory for the first lead singer...like blind melon, the doors, type o negative,...Boston... if you like the "new Alice" support them. don't let my preference [and those of a multidude of fans] for one singer get in your way.

i think people are just saying Alice in Chains can never be the same without Layne... he is not replaceable, and is personally my favorite singer.. Yea i understand AIC has to move on.. but the point is, without Layne, they are not the same.. and can never be..

the combination of layne and jerry will never be replaced, and layne was probably the most talented singer ive ever heard, but alice in chains is still an EXCELLENT fucking band without him, and better than any ofher band thats still around today. good for jerry to keep the band going, duvall is a great singer even if he isnt as good as layne and i cant think of anyone else who can do his job better
