In 1964 The Majestics came to motown, Richard Street, Warren Harris, Saundra & Maurice Fagin were signed to the V.I.P label Thier first single was to be "Hello Love" but the single was canned and motown discovered there was a group based out of East LA called The Majestics, so Motown's Majestics became The Monitors and "Say You" was thier first single in 1965

  • Are these the same Majestics that recorded for Chex? I'm actually posting some stuff by them tonight. They're both Detroit groups so I'm assuming they're the same group.

  • yeah they are, but the lead singer they had on Chex left by the time the got to Motown, he recorded on single with a group called The Freeman Brothers on the soul label

  • Your right it was one of The Freeman Brothers that was a original member to The Majestics

  • beautiful!!! amazing!

  • yjnhtjsrn

  • MOTOWN'S VIP appeared to get all the records that Motown didn't quite know what to do with-

  • the record was never pressed. it's probably on a box set cd. the record show is a different record.

  • Absolute bliss..This joint !

  • how can i down this song ?

  • I wouldn't necessarily call this "unreleased". Gordy may have cancelled the release of the record but once a commercially pressed copy (whether it's a promo or a stock copy) has left the company's doors, it's a released record. Same situation with The Masquerade Is Over by Marvin Gaye and For Your Precious Love by The Impressions on Vee-Jay.... They were cancelled by their respective companies but a very small handful got out making them "released" records.

  • It's a shame this was never released.
