@tubeaholic Thank you, finally somebody else that gets it right, Then just throw the half shell of the lime in the drink with a slapped sprig of mint and a quarter of pinapple speared with a cherry and you got it, plus dont forget to make it with shave ice. Dont F'em all up by adding all the wrong crap like O.J. and Grenadine and and Bacardi and Myers it is just a slap in the face of Trader Vic. If you love em make em right or don't make them at all.

woow this is more than just a bullshit! except for orange curacao, all the ingredients are wrong -.-
-
Totally BS!
If you can`t make cocktails, don`t do a fucking cocktail tutorial!
You`r Mai-Tai is wrong on so many levels, i don`t know where to begin...
Also; a real bartender uses a Boston shaker, not a 3 piece crap shaker.

Why did you say....'1 1/4 ounces fresh lime juice' and then pour in Rose's Lime Juice which was invented for the British Navy to PRESERVE lime juice. PRESERVED is the OPPOSITE of fresh. Oh and get rid of the OJ and you nailed it. =P

Acording to Robin Williams, Mai Tai means dumb fuck XD But I wouldnt know. :P

Also for god's sake please don't use Rose's lime juice in a exotic drink. The whole flavor from these tropical cocktails comes from the fresh lime!! Also you said fresh lime in the video - why not use it?

That is NOT a Trader Vic's Mai Tai. OJ does not belong in the drink, for starters.
Please consider:
2 oz - Appleton Estate rum (12-year-old is best)
1/2 oz - orange curacao
1/2 oz - orgeat
A dash of simple syrup
Juice of one whole lime (Fresh-squeezed, not the sweetened Rose's brand)
Sprig of mint as garnish
Serve in a glass or tiki mug of crushed ice
